When putting in an offer on a piece of property, you can choose to pay a small fee to have an option period in the contract, during which you have the right to cancel the contract for any reason. I highly recommend that all buyers purchase the option to cancel the contract as it cost very little (often around $50-100) and gives you some time to think about what your buying and allows you to back out if you get buyers remorse.
