Last week I went on a mini-vacation. My wife and I went to a Mannatech conference in Dallas with her parents(the Browns) for several days and then traveled up to Illinois where they live. The conference was great, and gave me a much better grasp of all Mannatech has to offer the world. I’m planning to make some additional income helping provide the proper nutrition to malnourished children all around the world. Sound impossible? Ask me about it and I’ll tell you how it works.
After the conference we went up to Bethalto, IL(near St. Louis) and stayed with the Browns for several days. The first day we were up there it snowed two inches!
That was kind of strange because it was almost spring here in Longview! Thanks to the snow Mr. Brown got off work and was able to join us as we visited the St. Louis Arch and took a little riverboat cruise down the river.
It was freezing cold but still a lot of fun. The following day we wandered through a Bass Pro Shop just for fun and then went to Americas Incredible Pizza Company for lunch. They had all kinds of things to do there like bumper cars, mini-golf, mini-bowling, go karts, as well as arcade games! Sadly we had to go home the following day but my wife and I got to stop at Lambert’s Cafe in Sikeston, MO to enjoy the throwed rolls and wonderful food.
While I was gone my buyers had there home inspection’s done and when I got back everything was good. The option period is past now and there should be no more major issues. I’m shooting for a closing on April 8th. Right after I got back in I jumped back into my real estate work and one of my fellow agents referred someone to me. Now I’m working with a buyer #2 to find a home in the Overton area. Everything is looking up in my world, but with a baby on the way I’ve got to keep working on finding new business. Some days I just want to sit around and hope someone calls me, but of course whenever I do that nobody calls. 🙂 So to do well you have to get yourself out there…people have to know who you are.
Some wonderful news…yesterday I got my first paycheck! The first buyers I had worked with here in Longview relocated to Tyler and I referred them to another agent down there. Well they finally closed on their home in Tyler and I got my check in the mail yesterday. It’s just enough to keep me from burning my savings so I can’t celebrate too much. It’s been about 3 months since I started selling real estate as a full time real estate agent in Longview and I’m just now getting a little money…this certainly is a not a get rich quick scheme. 🙂 But I’m pressing on, the harder I work at it the better I will do. As always if you know anyone buying or selling real estate be sure to introduce me and give me a call, I’m always glad to help!
